Workspaces
Organize your teams and manage access at the highest level.
What is a workspace?
A workspace is the top-level container in SAJEL. It represents a functional operating area, not the whole company and not an industry.
Examples: Sales Ops, People Operations, Finance & AP, Legal & Compliance, Public Services, Clinical Operations.
Everything in SAJEL (bases, boards, records, automations) lives inside a workspace.
You can have multiple workspaces when you need clear separation between operating areas, ownership boundaries, or permission scopes.
Creating a workspace
Click the workspace switcher in the top-left of the sidebar, then click "Create workspace". Give it a functional name and optional description.
Many teams start with 2 to 6 workspaces (for example: Sales Ops, People Operations, Finance & AP, Legal & Compliance) and then use bases inside each workspace to model major workflows.
Members and roles
Each workspace has members with assigned roles:
| Role | Access level | Can manage members? | Can delete workspace? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | Full control over structure, data, and settings | Yes | Yes |
| Editor | Create and edit records, views | No | No |
| Viewer | Read-only access | No | No |
| No Access | Completely blocked | No | No |
Be careful when assigning the Owner role. Owners can manage permissions and invite or remove other members.
